The moment I think of a historic person to spend time with, the first name comes to my mind is Rabindranath Tagore. If I could spend an evening with a person in history, my first priority would be Rabindranath Tagore.
Now the question can arrive, why I have chosen him, I have chosen Rabindranath because his literature, his thoughts always have inspired me. His personality had different shades which always made me astonished.
Tagore didn't go with the general process of learning.je was never interested in bookish knowledge. Still he did things what no one could do in his time. This man made the base of modern Bengali literature which is really unbelievable.
By reading his life history I've known that his childhood was influenced by women. Females were the main appreciators of his literature and thoughts. That's why his thoughts and mentality were way too different than other men in his time. in that time men's thoughts were confined. Their thoughts were generally about business and serious matters but Rabindranath was different. His thoughts and imagination had no limitation. As he was different from men in his time, he liked company of women more. This thing influenced his writings in his later life. He understood the obstacles on the way of development of womankind. He recreated the image of women with the power of pen. in his writings generally the lead character was female and he presented woman as a symbol of independence, intelligence and power. So, naturally he was opposed by the biased society. I have never seen so concern for womankind in any other writer's thought.
Rabindranath was not only a successful writer but also a significant poet. The way Rabindranath related the nature with human life, is hard to find in any other poet's poetry. Songs written by Rabindranath are still equally famous among all. People of all age and class love his songs. This talented man had written songs for every human emotion and every situation.
There is a famous poem written by Rabindranath 'Aji Hote Shoto Borsho Pore', where he had assumed what would happen after hundred years from then. Being a person of this time, hundred years after his death, I always have wondered what he would have said if he could see this present time. How many similarities are there between his assumption and present? Only he can answer these questions. An evening with him could clear all my questions and give me an opportunity to know him and his thoughts better. So for me meeting Rabindranath is a cherished dream and if I could spend an evening with a person in history, I would choose him and make my dream come true.
